We bring you a tale from the heart of West Africa, where nature has sculpted a scene of majestic grandeur—not merely a geographical location, but a veritable sanctuary-of-the-soul. For within the verdant embrace of Ghana’s Volta Region, a land steeped in the richness of the Ewe culture, lies the Wli Waterfalls.

It is here, set against a spectacle of unadulterated awe, that the cacao trees find their home. Imagine, if you will, a lush, impenetrable jungle, mountains reaching for the heavens, and there, the cliff-side falls, shimmering, liquid cascades that plummet to crystalline pools.

Lore recounts their discovery by hunters, who pursued what they believed to be the rhythmic beating of drums, only to find the sound emanating from the waterfalls themselves.

For the Ewe people, this site is sacred ground, known to them as Agumatsa, meaning ‘Allow Me to Flow.’  The waters themselves are believed to confer blessings, making the falls a site of profound spiritual reflection, an oasis of inner and outer peace.

In the crafting of our Ghana chocolate, we heed the ancient call of instinct, that spirit-stirring force within ourselves. And we permit our creativity a certain liberty—to gush-forth unimpeded, such that the intrinsic, delicate flavors of our cacao might emerge in their purest form. Much like the Agumatsa, we simply allow it to flow, that its essence might bless your palate.
