Chocola'j

Our chocola’j, pronounced choh-koh-LAH-h (the final j is a soft, breathy “h” sound) is from the Maya and translates to “to drink chocolate together.” It reflects the communal aspect of chocolate in Maya culture. Made from stone-ground cacao, piloncillo, and a blend of chiles, our chocola’j is shaped into hearts. When prepared with hot water, each heart melts down and transforms into an authentic, deeply-chocolatey experience. It is rich and warming, with a little spicy kick. One heart is perfect for making two small cups of hot chocolate for you to enjoy with someone special.
